Idaho Gives

Thu, May 05 // 12:00 am to 11:59 pm

More info Less info

Idaho Gives is a special day for philanthropy across Idaho. A day for nonprofits to tell their stories and share the work that enriches communities throughout our state. A day for Idahoans to come together with one voice of support for our nonprofits, big and small.  A day for you to find your passion, donate to your favorite causes and share in the excitement!

Join us at www.idahogives.org May 5, 2016, to make a contribution to the nonprofit you support. Last year we raised nearly $1.1 million for 660 nonprofit causes. How much more can we do together in 2016?!

World-Premiere: Margin of Error (Or, The Unassailable Wisdom of the Mouse and the Scorpion) by Eric Coble

Thu, May 05 // 08:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Boise Contemporary Theater's 20th Season concludes with a new World Premiere set in Boise’s own airport during the height of election season. BCT River Prize fellow Eric Coble is the author of THE VELOCITY OF AUTUMN, which had its world premiere at BCT in 2011 and went on to Broadway, starring Academy Award winner Estelle Parsons. MARGIN OF ERROR is the story of Harold Carver, the greatest political strategist the nation has ever known. But he’s running four floundering campaigns, his personal and professional life face cataclysm, and he has no one to help him but his wide-eyed intern, Daphne, all while stranded at Gate B16 in the Boise Airport. A no-holds-barred dramatic comedy about how we choose our elected officials (and every other product) in this winner-takes-all world.

Dream On Film Screening

Fri, May 06 // 06:00 am to 08:30 pm

More info Less info

Dream On features political comedian John Fugelsang as he hits the road in search of the vanishing American Dream after decades of rising income inequality and declining economic mobility. By retracing the nearly two-hundred-year-old journey of Alexis de Tocqueville and speaking with working people about their hopes, dreams and daily struggles, the film explores whether the optimistic spirit of the American Dream that Tocqueville observed is alive and well in twenty-first-century America.

Following the screening, we will be discussing the film and developing concrete action items to affect change in our local community and throughout Idaho.

Tour de Fat is New Belgium Brewing’s traveling celebration of all things bicycle, honoring humankind’s greatest invention. Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, to increase awareness and participation in cycling as a sustainable form of transportation, Tour de Fat has grown into a national rite of passage for cycling advocates and bon vivants alike.
Opening each show with a costumed bike parade through the host city, Tour de Fat celebrates the power of the bike by encouraging everyone to embrace their inner-cyclist and ride the streets as a rolling carnival of creativity. The festival also features a celebration of the inspirational car-for-bike swapper series in which brave souls hand over their car keys as a commitment to commute by bike.
