Description

Dogs make great companions. They help us invent, explore, and carry out daily tasks. In this special Summertime Stories activity, we learn about a girl and her canine assistant in a unique story titled The Most Magnificent Thing, written and illustrated by Ashley Spires. Kids will then create their own felt canine companions. They will also be able to meet Boise’s puppies in training for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Summertime Stories is a fun learning activity at the Idaho State Museum every Tuesday during the summer. Ideal for children Pre-K through 2nd Grade and their caregivers. Each week, we’ll explore a different theme that highlights the stories and people of Idaho. Governor Brad Little and Idaho’s First Lady Teresa Little have funded this program by a generous donation.
